WORLD HERITAGE TRAINING

Education package for Blue Mountains Tourism Businesses

A new training initiative of the Institute is the development of a World Heritage training package for tourism operators, in partnership with the National Parks & Wildlife Service (Blue Mountains Branch & Park Cultural Values & Planning Branch), and the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Advisory Committee.

A key purpose of the program is to build tourism industry knowledge of the World Heritage Area and its values to enhance visitor experiences.

A pilot program was delivered for key local tourism businesses in 2018, with a two-hour indoor training session and a two-hour outdoor interpretive session.

A report including detailed feedback and recommendations from participants in the pilot program has been published. Click below to access the report.
